Outside Lands: Sunday Bands 1-5

Sunday! The day I will (hopefully) be in attendance. Not thrilled with the headliners (bored with Kings of Leon, absolutely hate Slightly Stoopid), but there's a lot of good music in the mid-range acts. And there's Phoenix.

(1) Phoenix

Phoenix - "Everything is Everything"

(2) Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - "Home"

(3) Temper Trap

Temper Trap - "Sweet Disposition"

(4) Mayer Hawthorne

Somehow this is not a lost Motown classic. This song was actually recorded last year. By a white dude from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Named Andrew Cohen. Blows my mind. Musical cognitive dissonance is fun.

Mayer Hawthorne - "Your Easy Lovin' Ain't Pleasin' Nothin'"

(5) Janelle Monae

If Outkast were a girl. And apparently some kind of android.

Janelle Monae - "Tightrope"

  1. As a proud member of the hip hop birther movement who is to say that Outkast (both members) isn't (a?) girl and or some sort of android. i havn't seen a birth certificate. Also Phoenix is probobly who I am most looking forward to.

I can't place whether or not I have ever actually listened to Slightly Stoopid, but by the name and spelling there of I assume they are a cross between ICP and 3OH!3. Please confirm or deny.
