Halfway Point 2010: 46-50

Thus begins the second half of the countdown.

46. Toro y Moi – “Low Shoulder”

The other Toro y Moi song on the list, this one is closer to his traditional chillwave sound.

47. Foster the People – “Pumped Up Kicks”

Previously discussed here.

48. Gorillaz – “Stylo”

"YES THIS LOVE IS ELECTRIC / IT'LL BE FLOWING ON THE STREETS / NIGHT AFTER NIGHT / JUST TO GET THROUGH THE WEEK / SOMETIMES IT'S HARD ..."

49. Woods – “Get Back”

If you've ever said, "I just can't listen to Band X because I hate the singer's voice" ... well then Woods might not be for you. If you're willing to take a chance on a simple, unique song, though, check it out. 2009's "Rain On" was among the very best tunes omitted from my year-end list, and I'm making up for it with two excellent Woods songs this year.

50. Robyn – “Cry When You Get Older”

(1) Listening Tip: Every Robyn song sounds better if you imagine Prince wrote it.
(2) Sweden Fun Fact: The phone number for emergency assistance is 112.
(3) Finally: Playing at Mezzanine on Sunday. As always, you should come.
