Last year, in the run-up to "100 Songs for 2010," I posted a collection of songs I called "Moments," songs with some interesting ideas, but songs that failed to work as a whole.
Well, here's the first "Moments" entry of 2011. The first 3:17 is a great Vampire Weekend-ish pop song. The last 1:20 is, for some reason, a re-interpretation of "Auld Lang Syne" about witches. I've thought about re-cutting the song into my own "single" edit, but that just seems dishonest. So here it is, in all its flawed glory. Maybe you're really into witches.
