2017 was a weird year. I won’t even try to compete with Aaron’s deeply moving and considered explanation of how this year has impacted the music we each find ourselves gravitating towards and grasping on to.

As I went back to comb through my tracks, I realized my own weird journey through this year is definitely reflected by what made the cut.  For nearly the first half of the year I found myself in between jobs; without headphones glued to my ears to ward off coworkers or a long commute, Id barely listened to any new music. That’s when I finally decided to get off my ass and start walking… A lot.

Over the last few months my trusty sidekick Baxter and I have clocked a lot of miles, translating into a lot of stomping around and discovering what some of my favorite bands have been doing with this nightmare of a year.  Most of the tracks seem to fall somewhere between electro dance pop, great for mindlessly pounding the pavement, and soaring moody melodies for wandering through parks and wondering what next.  (Oh and I subjected myself to the online dating scene this year so expect a dose of what in the actual hell).
