100 Songs for 2013: Near-Misses, Part One

The 100 Songs for 2013 master list started with the ten monthly Contenders mixes featured on the blog this year.  That's almost 300 songs.  I threw in another couple dozen that had slipped through the cracks for whatever reason.  Then it was time to start cutting.

Somehow, I made it down to about 125 songs fairly easily.  The Two Songs Per Artist rule helped.

Now, though ... these are the tough cuts.  These songs are being called into the coaches office, the door closed behind them, long serious conversations in hushed tones, bittersweet goodbye hugs.

It's ... okay, it's not that serious.  Here are twelve great songs that came awfully close to breaking camp with the big club.  We'll do twelve more tomorrow.
