Very much caught in the paradox of trying to submit this somewhere near on-time, but also knowing I'm going to be tutting & sighing seeing so many excellent songs on other lists I've missed! Oh well.

Not included on purpose? T Swift. Wasn't a Swiftie before, felt like I was missing something with the new album release.

Album I had 3(!) friends message me about? West End Girl, duh. A bit too much auto-tune for me, but wowzers what an absolutely perfect, petty revenge.

This year's playlist is a bit of an electronic jumble, and fair warning, I've included a couple of annoying earworms. Not because they're the best per say, but wow have some of them rattled around my brain for weeks.

The overall theme/vibe of the 2025 round-up feels like Getting Things Done with a side of Girls Yelling About Things, which is excellent.

I did try really hard to only include 2025 releases, but a couple are from the tail-end of 2024, because I only heard them for the first time this year.

Bonus-not-from-this-year-track: “Flux” by Bloc Party. Seeing them this year (~17 years since the last time) on my birthday, in Sydney, was one hell of a trip.
